Malus domestica 'Cripps Pink' Pink Lady apples are the only truly pink apples on the market. They are a relatively new cultivar of apples as they have been crossed between the Golden Delicious and Lady Williams apple varieties. Pink lady apples are also known as Cripps Pink. The apples have a reddish-pink blush colour on the outside. The flesh of the apple is very firm with a snappy tartness and crisp, sweet taste. The flesh resists browning when cut, making for a delicious fresh-eating apple with a long storage life. Pink lady apples are not self-pollinating, and require a Granny Smith Apple to pollinate it, and temperatures below 7 degrees in winter are required Scroll down for planting information
