Original Item: One-of-a-kind. This appears to have started life as a U.S. pattern 1918 fighting knife, most likely a French AU LION style of manufacture. The brass grip and knuckle guard is retained but it was mounted on an SMLE number 4 spike bayonet and it is contained in a spike bayonet scabbard with web frog. The Brass grip is Broad Arrow marked on both sides. Overall a very interesting unique fitting knife, that appears to be a converted custom adapted WWI 1918 fighting knife for use in World War Two.
