A prototype tank nicknamed Little Willie rolls off the assembly line in England. Improvements were made to the original prototype and tanks eventually transformed military battlefields.
President William McKinley was shot at the Pan-American Exposition in Buffalo, New York on September 6, which would kill him eight days later.
