Epic's Healthy Planet helps caregivers fill patient care gaps

UMMC caregivers are being innovative in their use of electronic health records to take a much wider view of patients’ medical histories and determine their ongoing needs. The caregivers' vehicle is Healthy Planet, a component of the Epic electronic health records system, which compares the records of entire patient populations and alerts caregivers to possible gaps in the management of diseases.
