The bronze medallion and Bronze Cross courses are prerequisites for lifeguard certification across Canada. Competent swimmers, and those with some previous first aid experience are invited to challenge the Bronze Medallion through the Vancouver Lifeguard Association. Candidates are required to review material from the Canadian Lifesaving manuals as well as be aware of the required elements of the exam.
